Every indexing assignment is assessed for its own particular complexities and attributes.  Many factors are taken into account when estimating the fee for an index.  They include (but are not limited to) target readership level, information density of the text, non-textual items to be indexed, page and print size, timeliness of delivery of the proofs and amount of notification given for completing the index
